What is the 2018 Michigan Horse Expo?

One of the top three-day horse expos in the country, the Michigan Horse Expo started in 1984. The 2018 Michigan Horse Expo is a resource for shopping, making connections, equine education, and taking in great rodeo and reining events.

 

The Expo has something for everyone, whether you’re a horse lover, horse owner, or equine professional. There’s even an area geared toward youth! There are clinics, seminars, and educational events conducted by horse professionals from Michigan and across the country. But most importantly, don’t miss out on the opportunity to shop for the latest and greatest items western wear and horse riding gear. A learning opportunity that is fun for everyone

There will be multiple opportunities to watch award-winning stallions in action.

 

Large animal veterinarians will offer advice and tips for how to best care for your equine friend. Veterinarians will also present some of the latest scientific research on horses.

 

Horse veterans who have been in the industry for 30 years will talk trends, safety, ethics, careers, advanced riding tips, riding therapy, listening to your horse, volunteer opportunities, and making sure you know what you’re getting into before embarking on a long distance ride.

 

Demonstrations include dressage demos and instruction, as well as a grooming clinic.

Where will my money go?

The Michigan Horse Expo was the brainchild of the Michigan Horse Council. Proceeds from the expo serve to advance, promote, and protect the equine industry in Michigan through leadership, education, service, and communication.

The Michigan Horse Council’s mission

The mission of the Michigan Horse Council is to:

 

  • Provide a central authority that will support, encourage, supplement, and coordinate the efforts of the constructive conservation, development, and promotion of the horse industry and horse community in the state of Michigan

  • Educate

  • Advocate

  • Provide scholarships to horse people and non-profit equine organizations

  • Support horse research

  • Support the well-being of horses

  • Promote the conservation of horses

  • Promote the public places for horses, such as public trails and fairground facilities

  • Promote the horse industry and horse community in Michigan

When is the 2018 Michigan Horse Expo?

The Horse Expo will be held Friday, Saturday, and Sunday on March 9, 10, & 11, 2018.

 

  • Friday March 9, a.m. – 9:30 p.m.

  • Saturday March 10, 9 a.m. – 10 p.m.

  • Sunday, March 11, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
